This sounds like a good plan to me so far. The only thing I wanted to
add is that 3) shouldn't be a separate gconf key. For that purpose,
just lock the gconf keys that dictate the proxy. It's required that the
proxy configuration handle that case nicely, but it shouldn't be an
extra key.
I like the idea of making these separate options. Obviously 1) and 2)
are linked, but other than that, each of these seems like it could be
useful on its own. Are there any other features that you think are
useful but that you didn't implement in galeon?
I'll keep in touch on this issue.
