As I said on IRC, the best way to handle this is to provide an option
for smart bookmarks to have an associated keyword and/or keyboard
shortcut. That way deskbar simply has to parse/query to retreive it
(just like we currently do for smart engines)
The keyboard shortcut is something i would like to see for smart
bookmarks, so i assign for example ctrl-g to my google smart bookmark,
and instead of typing
"search term" <down> <down> <enter>
I simply type
"search term" <ctrl-g>
This has at least one advantages over keywords, immediate
copy/paste/open. It's easy to configure (just provide a 'type your
shortcut here' style of config)
Once this is done, deskbar can handle the rest.
