This Firefox extension looks interesting from a privacy point of view. 
As far as I know, no such extension exists for Epiphany. Epiphany 
normally gets its proxy information from the GNOME preferences, so 
perhaps an "advanced proxy configuration window" or panel applet for 
GNOME, if it were implemented, would go a long way towards achieving a 
similar functionality.
