Not in the case of Debian--both Epiphany and Iceweasel are installed by
default, but only Epiphany gets a default panel icon and it is also
selected as the default GNOME browser.
Obviously the Firefox brand is something Debian can do without. But maybe
Debian is just not a popular linux distribution. ;)
