[Evolution] lock failed...

I just downloaded the preview 2 of evolution and it looks pretty good, but when
I try and check my mail with it I get the following error:

Unable to move mail:
Could not create lock file for /var/spool/mail/fjr: Permission denied

This is a user account.  I also tried this using root and it worked fine.
Has anyone else had this problem?  How do you get it to work for a user account.
