I have a worry about the way the GPG signatures are displayed when

obviously different from a signed message other than by viewing source?
Not currently no. Jeff has been aware of the problem for awhile and has
been trying to come up with a solution. The tough part is that in
multi-part messages individual parts can be signed/not signed so a gui
to display that is non trivial (ie, just can't put an icon in the header
area because only some of the messages maybe signed).
