That's a pretty neat feature, though the keyboard shortcut seems rather
broken--F7 enters the mode, but it won't turn it back off.

1.5.7? Toggleable with F7 or via View->Message Display->Caret Mode, I
can't figure out what it does.
It allows you to select text with your cursor when viewing a message.
That is, you get a caret in the message text to do with what you will.
Otherwise, you can't really do much with your cursor keys (aside from
scrolling) when viewing a message.
