On Rodrigo's advice, I just appended to 58748.... and now it is exactly
the same bug.  The following change just appeared in AnonCVS:

2004-05-26  Kidd Wang  <kidd wang sun com>
        * gui/e-week-view.c: (e_week_view_event_move),
        (e_week_view_change_event_time): In week view all-day events
should
        keep all-dayness when moved around.

Don't know if it's the cause, but now my all-day events show as 5pm->5pm
in all views, just like birthdays and anniversaries.
