[Evolution] configuration problem

I tried to configure Evolution and send a message but got the error
message:
Error while sending message: MAIL FROM command failed: Authentication
required.
Gmail works. I've got Ubuntu koala installed.
I'm new at this, and I'm sure it's something trivial I'm missing. Any
help would be much appreciated.
