        Hi,
the field is writable, thus you can write there almost anything. As
Akhil pointer to the user docs,
  $ date --help
gives you options for the strftime you can use there. Thus for your
format it looks like:
   %Y-%m-%d %H:%M

Note that similar date formatting fields are available in Preferences
for Calendar and Contacts views too.
