Hello Andre
Sorry I did not get the accent on your last vowel - I read David's email
and yours just now.
I obviously do not have the UK keyboard and have a standard US keyboard
(in Aust.)
I thought that foreign characters should have been system wide but did
not think to look in the Mint 10 User guide - will do that shortly.
(Brainless in hindsight)! Have been using windows books for years.
I had looked in Open Office but could only find (as in windows) Insert
Special Characters and click on the one required but that is slow and
cumbersome and could not make the number code shown work.
With my keyboard when I press the right Alt; followed by e Evolution
goes directly to the Edit menu.
Control Shift U xxxx gives me a line full of uuuuuu
Anyway I now know that it is possible and I have seen your emails to
prove it so I will try harder to make it work.
Thanks again
Regards
Peter Cave

You at least need to say what version of Evo this is. I know you
mentioned some version of Ubuntu but that means nothing to people who
don't use Ubuntu.

FWIW, it was meaningful enough to me. The word 'Ubuntu' means that he's
using a version of Evolution that is *so* old that I cannot be persuaded
to care about it.

Even Eudora2Unix does not give the date of sent mail in the outbox

Sounds like the date info simply isn't there. I don't know how Eudora
stores this for outgoing mail, but if the file is MBOX-style you could
just look at it to check.

Hi
I have installed the relevant dictionaries but cannot find how to enter
the foreign characters into an email.
Windows uses ALT+xxxx where xxxx is a number and the appropriate
character is entered into the text.
I can find no reference in the documentation to determine how foreign
characters are entered.
Thanks

Ctrl+Shift+U and then xxxx.

There is nothing in the docs because this has nothing to do with
Evolution - Input methods are system-wide. :)
