is there anything else at startup that needs to be addressed?

for various rather-hard-to-fix reasons we currently ask for the folder-tree twice at startup, so the backends probably have to be a little more agressive at using caching for get_folder_info() calls.  Imap in particular at least is pretty crap at that, even though it has an in-memory copy anyway.
