Hi guys
I have uploaded a new patch for the XMP importer, which I think is a
good step forward.
This time I rewrote the logic of XmpTagsMetadata and based it upon the
same logic as in InfoDisplay (which I of course should have done from
the beginning!). A big thank you to Stephane and Cosme who independently
and at the same time found the problem with wrong characters for
international (non-us) imported tags.
The result of this,
* I am getting more tags from my photos
* Got one more tag from Dotan's test photo
* Got one more tag from Fredric's test photo (missing one, but
this could be due to an IPTC exeption during import. See other
mail on the mail list)
* French, Hebrew, Swedish characters (which were the ones I could
test) works fine now.
Please try it and let me know how it works, and especially if I
- am missing some tags
- have some fundamental coding problems
- white space problems
- missing whatever
I have tested with all supplied test photos, and so far so good. I also
imported 800 or so of my old tagged photos and the result is also very
satisfactory.
Thanks for your time and your assistance.
/Bengt
P.s.
I also uploaded an icon for the latest imported tags.

Put this one in the icon directory, and do a normal make + make install
