The excuses given over the years for the lack of information, such as lack of time or the need for privacy, do not appear to me as real stumbling blocks.I disagree. The foundation is a non-profit organization and all of it's tax filings are publicly available via guidestar. http://www.guidestar.org under 'GNOME foundation' Should it not be made known more publicly or did I just miss the obvious. But to be just more transparent, there should be some breakdowns in terms of broad headings of the main items of expenditure and sources of revenue. Like example, GUADEC III expenditure/income summary. Bearing in mind that we have started charging conference fees, it is not unreasonable to have account summary presented to members. -Ghee Tim, Jonathan and I have met from time to time to discuss improving the transparancy of the finances and made changes to the accounting process to help improve things. Things could certainly be clearer, but I don't see a major problem. What specific information are you looking for that is not already publicly available ? _______________________________________________ foundation-list mailing list foundation-list gnome org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/foundation-list |
