Success!. . . almost (was still can't get garnome to run)

I dumped garnome 0.12.0 and installed 0.12.2. When I ran make install
things started happening and I thought OK here we go. Then the program
got to a line that says "checking for gmp.h...no, and then configure
error:can't find GMP (--without-gmp for cut-down non-GMP build).
Anyone know where I can get GMP or do I really need it?
