I tried to build garnome 0.18.0. The build fails at fontconfig:

etc.

So I did a "make install" in 
misc/fontconfig/work/fcpackage.2_0/fontconfig

so that that fontconfig.h gets installed. After that I could go on
with the build of gnome-desktop.
