I havent had this problem but have have you tried /sbin/ldconfig -p | grep
libtdl. This is usually the problem. Here is sample output:

[Sohail andalay Sohail]$ /sbin/ldconfig -p | grep libltdl
        libltdl.so.3 (libc6) => /usr/lib/libltdl.so.3
        libltdl.so (libc6) => /usr/lib/libltdl.so

If it doesnt show up, then

1) Edit /etc/ld.so.conf to ensure that the directory that libltdl.so.3 is
the first directory in there
2) run /sbin/ldconfig as root
3) Run /sbin/ldconfig -p | grep libltdl and if it shows up then youre ok,
otherwise i dont know.
