After doing this I now get the following error:

can't find file to patch at input line 4
Perhaps you used the wrong -p or --strip option?

patch: Invalid options.
patch: Usage: patch [-blNR] [-c|-e|-n] [-d dir] [-D define] [-i patchfile]\
[-o outfile] [-p num] [-r rejectfile] [file]
You either have to fix gar.conf.mk to use gpatch,
or symlink /usr/bin/gpatch to "some path/patch" such
that "some path" is in front of /usr/bin, which is
where the patch binary you're getting output from
is. I assume you're trying to build on Solaris.
