Carlos,

* cd desktop/gdm
* edit the Makefile
- look for

	CONFIGURE_ARGS = $(DIRPATHS)

- change it to 
	CONFIGURE_ARGS = $(DIRPATHS) --enable-authentication-scheme=pam

if your system support PAM authentication.
