I guess I'd love to rely on magic and todays package managers being at least
somewhat smart.
I don't know about apt-get, but urpmi for example usually is happy with the
number left off entirely. This should work unless there multiple different
versions available.
We'd need someone familiar with each package manager, to go through the list
and canonicalize the deps...
