I have a number of shift_JIS files which gedit refuses to accept as
shift_JIS, falling back to ISO-8859-15 and displaying all the Japanese
as proxies and moji-bake. Is there any way to get gedit to relax the
parsing?
Or is this just going to have to wait for someone who has time to write
code to accept more recent or variant standards (which I am aware may
only happen if someone such as myself does it, and may never make it
into the project tree)?
