Re: [gedit-list] Gedit Latex plugin

Great!

as promised, I have uploaded my proto-prealpha-baby plugin on the live.gnome.org page that Michael created. Basically, forward search (and invoking xdvi upon successful latexing) works. Inverse search *almost* works, in the sense that, using dbus-send, I can get gedit to move to the correct line. However, for some reason xdvi cannot invoke the appropriate dbus-send incantation. I must look into this, but it looks like I will be unable to do anything until the end of June.

More generally, Michael has already done a lot of work. His plugin is also a testament to the sound design of the gedit plugin system, IMHO... Bottom line: if Michael agrees, I think it would be more efficient to simply copy whatever seems useful/appropriate from "my" latextools.py into Michael's LaTexPlugin.

Again, I can't do much until the end of June, but I do volunteer to help fix things.

Best,
Marciano.

Hi there,

I've just uploaded an update of the plugin at

This should also solve the TypeError issue reported by some users.

Michael
