I won't say a dead project, but I can see your are unhappy by the response. You've presented arguments for the benefits of the project and the group for the use of github and you had a small response with little to no argument. Please don't take it personally. In these cases remember that the people who respond to you are humans they may had a bad day that might influence their response, just ask why courteously and things shouldn't go into flame wars.
