[Gimp-user] blur face neatly

Hi I have just started using gimp. I wonder if it is possible to blur a selected
area of a photo, such as the face after using the intelligent scissors. I have
tried several times but can't seem to get it! After you have selected an area
with the intelligent scissors is it possible to change the area inside, for
example by burring etc? Thanks.
