Can I just ask, why are you using the source output functionality at
all? why not just use libglade? not trying to start a fight, more
understand why people would still use that functionality when from my
pov, it seems antequated and more effort than it's worth.
so you must have a good reason. I'd like to hear it please, for myself.

I think I just spotted a bug in Glade code generation when setting the
size of a widget. It outputs '-2' for unchanged values rather than '-1'.
That may be causing the problem.
It was due to this bug.
You can work around it by checking calls to gtk_widget_set_size_request()
in interface.c and changing any '-2' to '-1. That fixed it for me.
I'll fix the bug in Glade.
