I ran my program under gdb and got
Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
0xb7d062cb in gtk_accel_group_find () from /usr/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0
and under valgrind
(glswarm:2341): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_accel_group_find: assertion
`GTK_IS_ACCEL_GROUP (accel_group)' failed
so I went into glade and removed any of the accellerator keys from the
popup. Now the program works. Any idea how I could fix this to still have
the accellerator keys?
Thanks!

You need to get a stack trace to see where/why it crashed.
