Dear Tristan,
sorry for my delayed answer, and thanks a lot for yours, which was very comprehensive and helpful! Now I know
better where to go for Max OS X and Windows deployment.
Regarding /usr/share/, I believe it is defined by both the File System Hierarchy standard (FHS)* and the XDG
Base Directory Specification*. I just was not sure if there are any special conventions for .glade files.
