State of the art is:
kernel 2.6.15,
gtk 2.8.9, glade 2.12, autoconf 2.59, glib 2.8.5?, automake 1.9.6,
glademm 2.12
You might want to try installing automake 1.7 or up and disabling
gettext support (under C options). Using glademm from CVS (see README)
should
But learning programming on such an outdated system is neither fun nor
makes much sense.
Unless your hardware is too small I really recommend you to upgrade to a
decent environment (e.g. ubuntu breezy)
