This patch addresses some miscelaneous bugs and fix-ups I found in the C
bindings, including the bug Remus reported. This raises the issue that we
have two unused text boundary types only in the C bindings which are
cursor_pos and attribute_range. the question is whether to leave them
unimplemented, as this patch does, or remove them requiring an API change...
