I am still working toward using my Baum INKA braille display with
Brltty and Gnopernicus. This involves helping with the creation of a
Brltty driver and then testing out the support for the
INKA which already exists in the Gnopernicus braille driver.
I managed to have the firmware in my INKA upgraded last year to the
1998 version, which is supposed to allow the INKA to use a standard
serial baud rate instead of its custom communication protocol. What
keys do I need to press on the INKA to switch to the more standard
serial mode, and what are the serial parameters (baud rate, data/stop
bits, parity, flow control)? finally, whom at Baum should I contact if
any further questions arise?
With thanks and apologies if this is slightly off-topic. Dave Mielke
and I have also been discussing braille display configuration issues
in Brltty and the possibility of sharing, or drawing experience from,
the XML configuration format used by Gnopernicus for this purpose.
