Okay, ladies and gents. I apologise for my absence during the CSS
discussion. Let's get this settled.
Thanks to Calum Benson for notifying Usability and Accessibility. I am
very appreciate of the enthusiasm. ;)
Pat Costello spent an email bashing me 'round the head for the
concentrating only on visual appeal (perhaps deservedly). What I was
aiming for was to make the docs look more "professional", as an eight
year old could create HTML documents that looked better in Gedit. I
found the arguments about branding rather interesting, so I have changed
the background image to be distinctly GNOME. If you still don't like
it, well, then, I s'pose I can let it go.
I assume that everyone likes the indenting of the sections and the
underlining of titles, by the lack of criticism of these items. ( I do
feel that these improve readability. ) As for the background colours of
the notes, tips, etc, these should be different with the stylesheets.
Could someone from usability or accessibility please supply me with a
list of alternate stylesheets that should be made to assist those with
difficulties. I will also need to be told what colours, fonts, etc
should be used. Note that the main CSS at the moment does not even
touch the fonts.
CSS also has features for use with text to speech tools, which alter
voice tone etc (aural tags). If someone from accessibility would help
me, I could work on using the CSS to make it better for people who need
to use text to speech tools to "read" the documentation.
Where can the updated examples be found?
