The message you posted indicates a failure to contact the at-spi 
accessibility registry.  Since the registry is working for GNOME 
applications, this suggests that your desktop configuration is still not 
right with regard to ORBit and/or Java.  Could you double-check the 
".orbitrc" entry?  It appears that the gnome-java-bridge is getting 
loaded, etc., but that the "activation" part is failing.

Also you may need to log out and back in in order for the ORBIT 
configuration to be read.
