Re: getting stuck in windows with no speech

Patraig,

Here is what I do to get to the server settings application:

1. start gnome
    startx
2. minimize gnopernicus
3. open my home folder and navigate to the desktop
4. open my desktop and select start here.
5. on this panel there are 3 items,
"applications", "desktop preferences" and "server settings".

If I press enter on "server settings", I get stuck.

So far the only solution I have found is to open a terminal window by
pressing <ctrl+alt+f2> and logging in as root and rebooting the system (not
an ideal situation).
