This had no effects, but I saw a quick popup window disappear just
before gok main showed up. Perhaps if you tell me what debug option to
enable I'd be able to say more about it ?

This has made the keyboard appear and work.
BUT : only when launched as root... !
And, gok --editor& return errors (see at the end of my mail).
PS : What is XKB ? What is it for ?

Sure.
First impression : great piece of software !
I'm just ennoyed by the dependencies, hard (for me) to solve when
building the latest gok.
For example, I don't understand why gok 0.7.1-4 runs on my (not
updated) FC1, and why gok 0.7.1 complains about failed dependecies when
trying to build it on the same system ? (see below for the output of
the ./configure script)
