No, but I invoked the ./configure command as following:
./configure --with-java-home=/usr/java/j2sdk1.4.2_04

Nonetheless I tried to set the JAVA_HOME variable with the value 
"/usr/java/j2sdk1.4.2_04" with the same result

IC, is there any other mistake I could make?
