Earlier I tried to run the ubuntu trial disk for x86 computers on a Dell
desktop with 128mb of memory. The hard drive has 120gb of space and
another installed version f debian on it I prefer to keep undisturbed for
the time being. I used link 5 on the ubuntu page off of the gnoppix page
for the download. After hitting the enter key five times waiting for disk
activity to stop, the gnome startup sounds play over my sound card.
Beyond that, though there's no speech. I have the sound card I do not
have magnification needs since no magnification will ever help this eye
sight in this life, and I do not have a refreshable braille display. WAm
I starting this system up incorrectly or do I not have enough computer
resources yet available to run it, or am I not waiting long enough for
speech?
