When in gnome, do alt+f2, enter gnome-terminal and press enter. I don't
understand the problem, but believe it is to do with gnome panel
crashing.

What's the easiest way to run gnome-terminal without speech or braille
output?
Also, I would rather get to the bottom of what is causing the problem so
that it can be eliminated.
