Hi. AS a follow up to this, it was suggested that I run the at-spi
daemon by hand, and I had to wait for assistance to try this, but when I
did, the run application box just came up for a second and disappeared,
so I was not able to run gnome-terminal. Also, I got the following
message from my kernel during this process:
Jan 30 19:34:26 ccs bonobo-activation-server (martin-14724): could not
associate with desktop session: Failed to connect to socket
/tmp/dbus-RxtRS3tdmt: Connec\tion refused
Jan 30 19:34:27 ccs kernel: ------------[ cut here ]------------
Jan 30 19:34:27 ccs kernel: WARNING: at fs/sysfs/dir.c:463
sysfs_add_one+0x2f/0x3b()
Jan 30 19:34:27 ccs kernel: sysfs: duplicate filename 'vcs13' can not be
created
along with a complete backtrace which I have not included.
Something is seriously wrong with gnome, but I don't have a clue as to
how to fix it.
