ANNOUNCEMENT: gmap-1.1.0

The developers of GMAP are pleased to announce a first public release of
their three years' work under GPL. GMAP is a map viewer with emphasis on
temporal data. It hopes to evolve into a free and powerful Geographical 
Information System. So far it works with The U.S. Street Map Database / 
Alaska (see Bruce Perens' http://perens.com/FreeSoftware/).

Although the distribution is not ready for public use yet, everyone is
welcomed to try it and share suggestions and ideas with us. More
information about development, mailing lists, downloads, etc. can be found
at http://academy.cas.cz/~gis
