Release of a new set of XML/XSLT libraries

I have released a new set of XML/XSLT libraries:

libxml-1.8.12: this is a bugfix version of the libxml1 branch
needed for GNOME 1.x . It also includes a correct
XML parser backported from 2.3.x and an extra API
call xmlUseNewParser() to switch between both.

libxml-2.3.8: latest version of the XML library, also includes
HTML and now a DocBook SGML parser for easing the
SGML->XML doc transition. This version also support
                  validation of non-determinist content models.

libxslt-0.9.0: The XSLT library, it requires libxml-2.3.8, it
is good enough to be deployed seriously, the
XPath implementation in libxml2 is also far more
                  robust and complete.

   More informations at: http://xmlsoft.org/
                    and: http://xmlsoft.org/XSLT/
Downloads: ftp://xmlsoft.org/ and on the GNOME FTPs

Speed wise I have made clear progresses, testing with a non-trivial
example (the XML version of the XML specification on a 700Mzh box)
libxml2 consume 8MB/s using SAX, 3MB/s with DOM build and 1.5MB/s
for DOM + validation. The XSLT implementation is now as fast or
even faster than Microsoft implementation depending on the testcases.

Basically, libxml2/libxslt combo is ready to handle the GNOME projet
documentation formating needs, the KDE project is deploying it too.

  Enjoy,

Daniel
