I'm proud to announce the initial release of gir-repository.

Now, the first thing most of you out there will ask yourself is, what is 
gir-repository?

Gir-repository is a package containing gir files used by the 
gobject-introspection project for a bunch of projects.
The point of it is to make it easier for language bindings and projects
using gobject-introspection to get girs and typelibs installed.

In the future the need of this package will go away as the girs will be 
moved to the upstream projects themselves. For instance, GdkPixbuf/Gdk/Gtk 
girs will go into gtk+ itself and will be built at the same time gtk+ itself
is built.

Gir-repository is currently containing the following girs, think of them
as a 1:1 mapping to pkg-config .pc files:
