we want you to do lots of things :-) yes, we need a lot of help, so you
can choose on what you want to work. Have a look at
http://www.gnome-db.org/dev/index.php, where you'll find some (little)
items to work on. Apart from those, right from the top of my head:
* help Carlos with the report engine
* Database export/import
* query designer based on XML queries
* extend the database browser to allow users to add/remove/modify DB
objects, using XML queries
* fix providers (ODBC, Interbase, LDAP, Mail...) or add new ones
* database: bonobo monikers
* logging: implement logging in the providers
* UI tweaks: make the front end and UI components look very nice
* new GnomeDbGrid, although I'm thinking that this can wait until GTK
2.0, where there is a nice replacemente for GtkCList (GtkTreeView).
Another solution would be to make our own widget, basing it on the
canvas. This will be a nice thing to have, but it would mean lot more
work
* source code cleanup: classes (gtkObject-derived classes) should not
have public fields, but only a XXPrivate member.
Also, I sent to Carlos a list the other day, so please Carlos, tell us
about the items I may have missed in this mail
most of these tasks include both low-level stuff (libgda) and UI stuff.
If there's something else you (or other people) think may be added, also
please tell me
so, which one do you want? when are you starting? :-)
cheers
