Damn. I just read the LICENSE file and you're right, which is wierd because I emailed Doug Sander (author of the MIME++ library that mimelib is based on) a couple of weeks ago about getting some code under GPL and he said that the KDE stuff was GPL'd, but it plainly isn't. I'll get back in touch with him and clarify.
Thank you for pointing that out - I was about to waste several weeks work!
