Sorry to bother

 Hi,

This has nothing to do with gnome though it can and might and 
whatever.

I watch a tv station broadcasting on internet using windows media 
player technology.

Well, I have to switch to windows each time I want to watch the news. 
It's a middle eastern tv.

Needless to say I searched Freshmeat and such for a media player that 
can do those .asx files but even netscape doesn't have a plugin for 
any platform

Anyway, does such a thing exist?

Please reply to me if you have more info to avoid discussing windows 
media player issues on this list.
