intl/ from CVS problems

I have been grabbing gdk-pixbuf, bonobo and some other "unreleased" stuff
from CVS.

When I compile, I get

[...]
creating intl/Makefile
sed: can't read ./intl/Makefile.in: No such file or directory
creating config.h
[...]

then when compiling, there is no makefile in intl/

I have all the current gnome-libs, gettext, and friends. Also, I have tried to re-get the source from CVS,
and still nothing.

Since I have seen no traffic on here about it, I am guessing that I am doing something wrong, but what would 
that be?

I eagerly await the sagarious advice from the gnome. :)
