Assuming that you can only indent using tabs (and that such is a good
idea) is always a bad thing.

Assuming that you can change the width of tabs on all devices is a bad
thing.

Assuming that people will want to change the width of tab stops for
every single different program just because of some weirdos who won't
use spaces is a bad thing.
