GNOME library error

Hello:

I have just reinstalled my debian box and installed ximian gnome and
xfree 4.1, and when I try to compile a gnome program I get an error:

gcc `gnome-config --libs gnomeui zvt xml` main.o connection.o menu.o
config.o addressbook.o address.o terminal.o -o gcrt
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -ldb
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [gcrt] Error 1

Anyone knows qhich is this library that is missing?
