XML Schemas or DTDs

I've been playing around with libxml and some of the GNOME DOM stuff
in anticipation of using them in an app that I am working on. Does
anyone know if any of the GNOME XML tools support Schemas?
www.w3schools.com says that, although nicer than DTDs for many things,
they are still being standardized. For my uses, DTDs should be fine
but if there are hooks in the GNOME tools for going directly to
Schemas....
