Well, you need the handle to get to the applet's right-click menu. Also,
with the task guide, you need the handle to move it, as middle-dragging
moves window thumbnails around. (You can move it by right-clicking, and
selecting 'Move' from the context menu.)

Fixing this would be nice, but it would stuff up a few people's muscle
memory. :)
