Yes. And that leaves you where exactly on HP-UX,
HP-SUX customers would need to pester HP so they collaborate with SGI

Basically, the changed file notification is the problem of the operating
system and low level layers. We only index. Those people interested in
having our product work in their particular architectures can contract
us to collaborate with the SGI people to support their operating
sytstem. Most every other component in our system is automatically
portable, beecause it's written in python. Installation footprint might
become a concern, but for our target platforms, Python is already
installed, and there's a fairly standard Python distribution that can be
installed in almost every platform. Furthermore, we could investigate
into reducing the Python installation footprint. We basically employ
the POSIX and the XML parsing utilities.
